Learning Objectives

Understand CPA licensing requirements in Tennessee.

Understand continuing professional education requirements for Tennessee CPAs.

Understand basic requirements of the peer review program and who must be enrolled.

Understand the core competencies required of CPAs and the rules of professional conduct.

Through the use of case studies and examples, gain an understanding of what constitutes ethical behavior.

 

 

About the Speaker:

Dr Jeannie Harrington, CMA, CPA (inactive), is the current Chair of the Department of Accounting at Middle Tennessee State University.  She has been on the faculty at MTSU since 1988 and has taught various courses during her tenure, including various levels of Cost Accounting and International Accounting.  Dr. Harrington’s research interests include foreign financial reporting, outsourcing, corporate social reporting and IFRS applications.  She received the 1999 and 2006 awards from the Tennessee Society of CPA’s for her articles on the Eurodollar and outsourcing of tax returns.  She is a strong supporter of the Institute of Management Accountants, serving on the Nashville Chapter Board and also faculty advisor for student chapters.
