Dr. Jeannie Harrington, CMA, CPA

President, 2022-2024

Jeannie Johnson Harrington, CMA, CPA is Chair of the Department of Accounting and the HCA Professor of Accounting at Middle Tennessee State University. 

Dr. Harrington has been on the faculty of MTSU since 1988 and has taught several different courses during her tenure.  She uses active learning and is always ready to try the latest educational pedagogue.  She is the faculty advisor for the Student Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), the Past-President for the Tennessee Society of Accounting Educators, and is an active member of numerous committees.    She also serves on the Nashville IMA and Millview Swim Club Boards of Directors.   After many years of service to IMA, Dr. Harrington will be assuming the role of President for the Nashville chapter board in the upcoming fiscal year.

Dr. Harrington’s research interests include foreign financial reporting, outsourcing, corporate social reporting and IFRS applications.  She received the 1999 and 2006 awards from the Tennessee Society of CPAs for her articles on the Eurodollar and outsourcing of tax returns.  Jeannie has been active in the International Accounting Section (IAS) of the American Accounting Association for many years, having served as the Southeast Region Liaison, Secretary, and newsletter editor and photographer for eight years.  She received the Outstanding Service Award for IAS in 2012.

Jeannie is CEO of the Harrington household consisting of her husband, Paul, college age children Natalie and Hank, and Labrador dogs Cody and Jill.  Jeannie earned her doctorate degree from the University of Kentucky, and her ties to both UK and MTSU solidify her heart bleeds BLUE! She is an avid masters swimmer, and loves boating and hiking.

Treasurer

Libby Antognoli is a Finance and Accounting Executive experienced in Corporate and Public Accounting in the areas of Construction, Architecture, Retail, Medical, and Transportation. She is currently the Controller for TMPartners, PLLC, a National High-Quality Architectural and Interior Design firm based in Brentwood, TN founded 1977. The firm is focused on Architecture, Interiors, and Planning Services experts in Healthcare, Government (public, safety, civic, education, and aviation), Higher Education and Commercial Projects.

Libby is focused on adding corporate value, profitability, and revenue growth through building, leading, and enabling high performing teams while developing and executing data-informed strategies in a wide variety of industries. Possessing the passion of a successful entrepreneur and the discipline of a veteran executive with tremendous personal energy and strong emotional maturity. Known for analyzing alternatives to solve complex strategic and financial strategies, guiding executive teams through complex dealings, and fusing disparate interests for win-win outcomes. Successfully navigates in ambiguous situations through focus, resourcefulness and an exceptionally rich and versatile skill set in strategy, corporate finance, and executive leadership.

As her role as a Financial Leader has evolved to include technical acumen, she has managed many projects involving hardware and software designs, development, testing, integration, and training. Overseeing the automation of every facet of finance and accounting. Continuous improvement and best practices push the need to seek out new and exciting technological advances which are being developed at an accelerated rate.

Libby has a Masters in Accounting and Finance, BA in Psychology and French, and Post Graduate Studies in Computer Science with Certifications in Change Management, Six Sigma, and Project Management. As a lifetime learner she has a strong interest in data analysis, data visualization, and machine learning and is currently learning R and Python programming languages as well as advanced classes in Tableau and Power BI.

Libby is married with two children and lives in Franklin, TN. She enjoys spending time with family, hiking, traveling, cooking, gardening, and reading. She is a Board Member and Treasurer for the IMA (Institute of Management Accountants) and AFP (Association of Financial Professionals). Member of PMI (Project Management Institute), CFO Leadership Conference, The Strategic CFO, SSGI (Six Sigma Global Institute), and CFMA (Construction Financial Management Association).


Misty England

Secretary

Misty has had a steadfast career in accounting at Bridgestone Americas for more than 17 years.  As a non-traditional college student and young mother, Misty worked tirelessly to get her bachelors degree in accounting while working full time over the years.  Misty wants others to know it can be done and hopes that she is an inspiration to others.   Misty is currently the Controls and Compliance Leader for Bridgestone Americas Record to Report team.  In this role, she helps ensure the entire department operates with solid accounting controls and is a liaison for internal and external auditors.  She has also had the pleasure to work on transformation & automation projects, focusing on continuous improvement and efficiencies for the multi-billion dollar organization.

Misty believes in the value of continuing education and thrives on life-long learning.  She was drawn to the IMA for the many personal development opportunities offered.  Misty is a new IMA member and joined the Nashville Chapter board in July 2021.

Tim Creel | Directory | Lipscomb UniversityTim Creel, CMA, CPA
Director of CMA program and Academic Relations

Dr. Tim Creel is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at Lipscomb University. He is a CPA, Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified in Corporate Strategy and Analysis (CSCA), and a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).

Creel earned a BBA in Accounting from Harding University, an MBA from Lipscomb, where he received the Outstanding MBA Graduate award, a Master of Science in Accounting, an Educational Specialist degree in educational technology from the University of Missouri, and a Doctor of Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Nova Southeastern University.

Dr. Creel's research interests include sustainability, accounting education, and Christian business perspectives. He has had several journal publications in these areas, along with several conference presentations for organizations such as the American Accounting Association, the Center on Teaching and Learning, the Institute of Management Accountants, the Tennessee Society for Accounting Educators and the Association for Financial Professionals.

He has worked with the IMA for many years as a campus advocate, including the start up of a student chapter.  In 2021, Tim joined the Nashville Chapter board to further assist with his passion areas -- academic relations and raising awareness of CMA credential.   His community service includes time as a board member and treasurer for the United Way, teaching and helping with a youth group at Church, and work with the Tennessee Society of Accounting Educators.

Karolina Podryadchikova
Student Ambassador

Meet Karolina, a dynamic senior at Lipscomb University pursuing double majors in Accounting and Management. She's a force to be reckoned with as the president of the IMA student chapter at Lipscomb and a dedicated senator representing the senior year on the SGA.

Originally hailing from the vibrant city of Yekaterinburg, Russia, Karolina brings a multicultural perspective to her academic journey. Fluent in both Russian and English, she also possesses conversational skills in Turkish. Her passion for exploring different cultures has taken her to 9 countries and counting, making traveling a significant part of her life's adventures.

This year marks an exciting milestone for Karolina as she joins the board, bringing fresh ideas and enthusiasm to the table.

Beyond her academic pursuits, Karolina enjoys engaging in various hobbies. You'll find her hitting the gym and pushing her limits through weightlifting. When she wants to unwind, she turns to the therapeutic art of knitting. And if you ever need someone to solve a Rubik's Cube in a flash, Karolina's got you covered with an average solve time of just 15 seconds!

Keep an eye out for Karolina as she continues to make her mark in the world of accounting and management. Her ambition, multicultural background, and diverse range of interests make her a true standout.


Susan Maddux, CPA 
Lincoln Trails Regional Council Representative

Susan's day job is a just another day in Music City!  Susan handles financial reporting and quality assurance at the Country Music Foundation Inc.  She enjoys her role in improving the financial stability of the foundation so that its mission - to preserve the history and traditions of country music - can be accomplished. The foundation (a TN educational non-profit) operates the Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum, Hall of Fame Grill & Catering, LLC and two historic sites open to the public: Historic RCA Studio B and Hatch Show Print. Prior to joining the Foundation in 2000, Susan’s career included internal bank auditing and owning her own CPA practice, which gave her the flexibility to work from home when her children were young. 

Susan was introduced to the IMA by being a guest speaker at one of our CPE luncheons.  She immediately felt a connection to the group and joined as an IMA member.  Susan is a two-time Past President of the Nashville chapter, as well as Past President of the IMA Lincoln Trails Regional Council. She holds a bachelors in accounting from Middle Tennessee State University. Susan and her husband enjoy doing anything outdoors with their four adult children, son-in-law, and two granddaughters. Before the pandemic, Susan sang and traveled with the internationally recognized Metro Nashville Chorus.


Amy Scully, CMA, CPA
Past President 2021-2022

For over 20 years, Amy Scully, CPA, CMA, has been a leader in Accounting & Finance in the Greater Nashville area.  Amy spent most of her career working for Cummins Inc, a Fortune 200 automotive company, holding multiple leadership roles with global responsibilities. Her technical expertise includes financial planning and analysis, capital management, accounting consolidation, reporting and controls. During her tenure at Cummins, Amy discovered her passion for process improvement.  She traveled to  locations across 5 continents, often to guide local teams on audit remediation and finance functional excellence.

In 2016, Amy joined Bridgestone Americas as Director of Record to Report Accounting Operations. Amy led a team of nearly 100 accounting professionals based in US and Costa Rica, responsible for the accounting of all Bridgestone locations in North and South America. Amy is most proud of transformational accomplishments benefiting those around her with better systems, tools and processes, and teammate growth opportunities.  In 2019, Amy was awarded Western Kentucky University’s “Outstanding Accounting Alumnus” award for her work with college recruiting and internship programs at both corporations.

At the beginning of 2021, Amy realized her dreams of joining others in the FIRE movement, otherwise known as "financial independence, retire early". She is focused on cherishing family time with her husband and 2 teenage children while staying active with various volunteer activities and occasional small business consulting.  She believes in the importance of giving back to the profession and demonstrates this through her continued involvement with the IMA Nashville chapter board.
